A Classic Approach to Popular Music
Welcome to CorkCoreRun Meshes Formal Training with Songwriting Roots
by William George

ESTES PARK - For most singer/songwriters the guitar part is secondary. The emphasis is on the lyrics and vocals. For Todd Corcoran, an interesting guitar part is just as vital to a great song.
It's been 10 years since Corcoran graduated from the University of Denver with a Master's in Classical Guitar Performance. Since then he's been hard at work developing a niche... Read More

Playing a Guitar is for Everyone
by Todd Corcoran
| |
Playing a guitar can be anything anyone wants it to be. We all don't want to play the same music - or are even meant to play the same music. So no matter what you want to play on a guitar, it's my sincere mission as a teacher to make it as as easy as possible to play.
| |
For me, playing the music I was meant to play wasn't always easy. I definitely took the scenic route. But through persistent trial-and-error, I developed an efficient system for learning to play the guitar, for playing the music I was meant to play.
| |
Today, through my lessons and classes, it's exciting for me to share this system with my students. It's gratifying for me to see them learn to play things in a fraction of the time that it took me, to see them play the music they were meant to play too.

The 5 Chords to Freedom Guitar Method
Relate and Connect Your Way to Proficiency
| |
The 5 Chords to Freedom is a methodical approach to understanding and applying ANY note, chord, arpeggio, and scale on a guitar. With this “freedom,” playing anything and everything on a guitar becomes possible.
| |
The 5 Chords' method is arranged in 5 volumes: Volumes 1 and 2 put learning a guitar into perspective by introducing and outlining what all guitarists should know about music and playing a guitar. Volume 3 gets playing off and running by reorganizing the basics and pointing out efficient ways to learn essential concepts. Volumes 4 and 5 focus on systematically relating and connecting all the chords, arpeggios and scales that any guitarist will ever need to know to play any song or style of music on any guitar.
